We can no longer see any smoke plumes, just smoke everywhere. We’re still under “mandatory” evac orders, so we’re stuck up here today. Hopefully, they’ll lift them before our reservation tonight at Bramble and Hare at 7:00 PM.

    That’s a lot of smoke!

The smoke map from https://fire.airnow.gov/. Since the detectors are only measuring particles smaller than 2.5 microns, they don’t see the whole smoke picture. 2.5 micron and abover aren’t considered to be as much of a health hazard, so they don’t worry about them.

You can clearly see the plume from the Alexander Peak Fire going just north of Loveland. The Stone Canyon fire to the south is too spread out to show up.

Here is https://firms.modaps.eosdis.nasa.gov/usfs/map/#d:24hrs;@-105.21,40.34,12.25z  at 9:38 AM this morning. The highway 34 fire line is holding south of the Alexander Peak Fire and the Stone Canyon Fire hasn’t advanced any further north. So, we’re still doing fine. With no winds, they should be able to make good progress on both today.

At least https://www.nocoalert.org has moved the evac area to north of Lyons, so there’s hope they’ll lift all the Stone Canyon Fire evacs soon.

Update 1, 5:00 PM - They haven’t lifted the evac, so we had to cancel our Bramble and Hare reservation.
