Ooops! I just realized that I’d never taken a night shot of the eastern plains. This was a good deal more difficult than I thought it would be. The iPhone 15 camera usually just turns night into day, but not this time. I had to manually set the exposure time to 1 second. It set the ISO (“film speed”) to 10,000 but unlike an actual piece of film this doesn’t necessarily introduce a lot of noise.


Look due east off the south deck, this is what the iPhone 15 caught. 1 second was a bit much, we couldn’t see the clouds at all, just a faint sky glow. Click on the image to see it at full size (Might have to stretch your browser window out some). Reminder to Martin - use a tripod! This is the least blurry of a number of shots.
