Yep, it’s Second Monday. Yesterday was even more exciting than we thought. One of the vast number of lightening strikes left us a little surprise for today! Our neighbors started calling us about a fire! Before long the 1st fire engines were here and one of the spotters asked if he could pop up on our roof to confirm exactly where the fire was.

You could see the smoke a little ways north of us, just where the center of the storm that dumped .84” of rain on us yesterday had gone. One of the lightening strikes had started a fire, but all that rain kept it just smoldering a bit until late afternoon today, when it started going again.

Here’s what you could see from the top of the roof at about 5:16 pm. They got to it while it was still only about 100 x 100 feet in size and put it out very quickly. Eventually there were some 3 engines, 2 more fire vehicles and the Sheriff up here. They were amazed by how much fire mitigation we’ve done around the place.
