July 20, 2025

What a morning this was! An incredible sunrise, then the morning feeding frenzy!

But, first, this was shot on July 14, 2025. Martin just didn’t around to putting it up! This is a sunset shot and we’re looking east. The evening frenzy can get intense!

This was shot at 5:46 AM this morning.

This was shot just 10 minutes later at 5:56 AM. These sunrises move fast!

This was shot at 5:48 AM this morning. The morning rush is really getting going here. You can see the sunrise reflected in the glass.

This was shot at 5:54 AM this morning. We’re pretty much at the peak of the frenzy now. Martin swung around to get the sunrise.

Here’s the July numbers thus far. The bird counts vary widely because we wait until we need to put out at least 3 walls or 1 wall and 2 tubes. Its difficult to make less syrup than that. Row 280, July 18, 2025 is an extreme example of this effect. We only put out 3 cups the day before, so we had to put out 11.5 cups that day. We just haven’t decided on how to calculate a smoothed average yet.
