You’d think that after almost an inch of rain, we’d be done with it. Nope, another third of an inch today!
Well, that’s more than the dusting of snow that was predicted. Welcome to springtime in the Rockies!
Heres the Solar Radiation graph from the weather station. March 26, 2025, was a normal sunny day, with a peak of about 270 watts per square meter. Today, we peaked at about 90 watts per square meter. The clouds were blocking two thirds of the sunlight.
When the day starts with rain and then changes to snow, problems can occur. In this case the anemometer froze up at about 10:00 PM and it wasn’t until Bill went up on the rood at about 9:00 AM to clear our internet dish and knock the anemometer and weathervane loose that we started collecting wind speed and direction again.
Here’s the total after the rain and snow finally stopped at about 4:00 PM today. 1.37” of precip yesterday and today! That’s enough!
The rain came in 3 waves with the middle one waking Martin up. Today it rained and snowed slowly all afternoon.
