    It actually is Monday, but with the lift they brought up, the motor assembly was installed!

Here’s where the motor electrical connection to the controller will be made.

Here’s everything that goes directly on the shaft. At the left are the two pillow blocks that are bolted to the motor mount and hold the ends of the shaft. At the right are the hoist drum attachments. They are split to allow them to be clamped to the shaft better than just a setscrew could do. All the keyways are 1/2” wide.

Here’s the last part of lifting the motor assembly into place. There’s about 400 pounds on the lift.

The assembly in place! It’s held to the tracks by the 4 1/2” bolts on each side. You can see that the hoist drums guide the cables to wrap smoothly. The cable doesn’t overlap, the drums are sized so that they are full when the elevator is at the top.
