Well, well, Well!! Time to report on the results of the cataract surgery that he had on Wednesday, January 28, 2026. Martin’s left eye is perfect! Right eye is a few days behind, still a bit blurry, but WOW!! The first few days, when both eyes were blurry were tough, then the left eye cleared up completely and Martin is not wearing glasses anymore.

The most amazing thing is that the world is now being seen in full techicolor, instead of pastels. Martin’s glasses prescription was so extreme that even plastic lenses were pretty thick. They were thick enough to knock a lot of color out, which, of course, Martin didn’t notice. Now, just amazing, he can see colors that he never saw before! The world is brilliant!

Ok, there are a few difficulties! Having to put on armor for a nap, for example. Two different eye drops, that have to be 5 minutes apart, 4 times a day.

The armor is just for the 1st 5 days, and one of the eye drops, the anti-biotic is just for the 1st week

Here is a dramatic example. Martin never did “get” this photo from Lynda Fowler - Fitz Roy Waterfall in Patagonia. That’s because he literally couldn’t see the dramatic light pinks and yellows. All he could see was shades of red. Now, though, wow! Martin can now see what Lynda was trying, and succeeded in capturing!

This is amazing, everywhere I look is new and exciting!!
