    "Semiquincentennial" derives from Latin roots meaning "half of 500 years," referring to a 250th anniversary. Semiquincentennial is formed from two Latin components: semi-, meaning "half," and quincentennial, meaning "500th anniversary”. Quincentennial combines quinque ("five") and centennial ("hundred years"), literally translating to "five hundred years”.

This is the largest fireworks display in history! Some 870,000 shells! It is unbelievable! Veritasium did a show about The Hidden Science of Fireworks a while ago, which is really interesting.
