May 19, 2026 Hummers in Snow and Fog Yesterday and Today

    When it’s cold and wet the hummers are extra hungry! Wow, they called a bit of a truce in this awful weather.

This was shot starting at 5:26 PM yesterday. I couldn’t believe it, 2, 3, even 4 hummers on a wall feeder! There are only 2 feeding stations on the walls and the hummers were actually sharing them. It’s really snowing but that doesn’t slow them down.

This was shot starting at 7:44 PM yesterday. We added two feeders and refilled the empty. The new feeders are in the middle of the two left hand sliders. It helped, but wow, the hummer truce is still on.

This was shot starting at 7:36 this morning. Being in the clouds at 32 °F doesn’t slow them down either. The difference between fog and being in the clouds is that the clouds are denser than a ground fog.

We are feeding over 200 birds now!
