They have a lot of interesting artifacts, from bicycles to stage coachs and on and on. This is just a few that caught our attention.
The 2002 Lotus, 25th Anniversary Esprit.
1923 Case 65 horsepower steam tractor. The steering wheel at the top left gives you an idea of the size of this monster! The way the steering works is wild. You can see, at the center, a worm driven by the steering wheel. That engages with the worm gear that turns a shaft that the chains going to the front axel are connected to. When you turn the wheel to the right, the right chain wraps about the shaft, the left chain unwraps and the axel turns to the right. Turning the steering wheel the other way reverses this process, of course.
1957 Fornaire Aircoupe. The Forney company built aircraft for a while.
This is Amelia Earhart’s 1923 Kissel Gold Bug' Speedster. She drove this car from Los Angeles to Boston in 1924 through the West and parts of Canada.
