This time a much more difficult pattern was created. A 210 tooth ring with a 192 tooth gear. Then the 88 tooth ring in that gear with a 44 tooth gear inside it. The theory says that there should be 35 x 4 = 140 points in the pattern.

There are that many “points”, but we’ll have to expand the meaning of point as you can see. I think that mathematically speaking, a point can be defined as the point at which the tangent of the line changes sign, from positive slope to negative slope or vice versa.
