April 16, 2026 Sous Vide Reheat of Prime Rib


We had enough prime rib for several meals, but how to reheat it? If you microwave it, it will get tough and its in big pieces so to get the middle hot, the outside will get over done. An oven or stovetop reheat will have the same problems.


The answer? Sous Vide! A very slow warm water bath.

We bought the Joule when it was introduced and then Breville bought the Joule brand. The app works really well! Since they didn’t have to try to put a display and control on the beast, its really nice and compact.


This did exactly what was needed, brought the prime rib up to 125°F without overheating, so it didn’t get tough or over done


We used our vacuumn sealer and notice that there is no tendency for the bags to float! There isn’t any air left in them.
